Photo Gallery: Wreath Hung At Brant Point Lighthouse
David Creed •
The wreath went up at the Brant Point Lighthouse Monday morning as Nantucket prepares for the 50th Christmas Stroll event this weekend.
The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Station Brant Point hoisted the wreath onto the lighthouse just before 10 a.m., a tradition started by former Station Brant Point master chief Jack Downey in 1993.
The wreath was designed by Hafsa Lewis of Hafsa & Co., and this year’s edition is the largest ever to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stroll, and incorporates red hydrangeas and mistletoe into the traditional wreath.
