The Nantucket Project - the annual gathering of thinkers, visionaries, and performers spearheaded by Tom Scott and Kate Brosnan - announced this week that it will not be holding its usual four-day event this fall on the island this year as it has done for the past decade.

Instead, The Nantucket Project will be "hosting and participating in" a series of eight to 12 smaller events at select locations across the country, including New York, San Francisco, Chapel Hill, Jerusalem, and yes, on the island as well.

"Our goal is to more boldly bring our work, work that many of you play a critical role in, to more people and more places throughout the country," Scott said in an email message to The Nantucket Project supporters. "As such, we WILL NOT conduct our four-day gathering this fall on Nantucket. Instead, we will produce multiple events, reaching many times the number of people and places, and working to grow the community of individuals and institutions committed to dialogue and pluralism as a regular practice."

The Nantucket Project will be back on Nantucket in some form this July and August, according to Scott's message.
