Incumbent Select Board members Brooke Mohr and Matt Fee will defend their seats against four challengers in the May 20th annual town election.

The field of candidates running for the Select Board and several other contested races is now set following Tuesday's 5 p.m. deadline for candidates to submit their signed nomination papers to the Town Clerk's office.

Mohr, who is the current chair of the Select Board, is seeking reelection to her second three-year term. Fee is running for his fifth consecutive term and six overall on the island's lead policymaking body. The incumbents will face three new challengers in their first bid for elected office - Mary Chalke, Brook Gibbs, and Jill Vieth - along with perennial candidate Cliff Williams, making his 15th run for a seat on the Select Board.

A potential seventh candidate - former Nantucket firefighter and carpenter Beau Barber - pulled his nomination papers but ultimately decided not to run.
