Town Poised To Select New Operator For Jetties Beach Tennis Courts

The Tennis Loft, a local racquet sports hub, is slated to take over the operation of the Jetties beach tennis and pickleball courts after receiving a highly positive recommendation from town of Nantucket Parks and Recreation Manager Charles Polachi.
“The proposer exceeds all bid expectations,” Polachi said.
The only respondent to a request for proposals from the town to manage the property, which was renovated over the last two years following a 2024 Town Meeting vote, the Tennis Loft is set to lease the property for four and a half years once their proposal is officially approved by the Select Board.
Owned by former professional tennis player and experienced tennis instructor Tina Hoskins-Burney, The Tennis Loft has previously held classes at the Jetties beach courts and is familiar with the space.
Polachi ranked the Tennis Loft’s proposal as “highly advantageous” on all fronts.
The Tennis Loft will pay a little over $106,000 for the lease, as well as a 4 percent revenue share on gross profits over $75,000.
