Truck Driver Hospitalized After Hitting Utility Pole
Jason Graziadei •
The driver of a Ford F-250 was hospitalized Thursday evening after colliding with trees and a telephone pole as it careened off Hummock Pond Road.
The driver was the only occupant of the truck, first responders told the Current. Police, EMTs and heavy rescue personnel from the airport were all on scene, with National Grid utility workers expected to arrive and address the snapped pole. Power was knocked out in the area as a result of the accident, with nearly 500 homes off Hummock Pond Road and the surrounding areas in Cisco without electricity. Hummock Pond Road was blocked to traffic from Bartlett Farm Road to Millbrook Road.
A Somerset Road resident half-a-mile away said the noise from the collision was so loud she heard it in the shower.
We don’t yet have any details on the extent of the driver’s injuries. We will update this story as we learn more.
