Cheers To A Responsible Celebration Of The 50th Daffodil Festival

To the editor:  On behalf of the Board of Directors of Addiction Solutions of Nantucket, we write to you as longtime community partners who deeply value the history, spirit, and positive community impact of the annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival.

As a non-profit dedicated to prevention, recovery, and overcoming substance use disorder, Addiction Solutions of Nantucket knows that despite feeling like a fresh start, this time can bring unexpected triggers. Longer days, social gatherings, and shifting routines can stir up old patterns. If you’re feeling it, you’re not alone and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself. If you or a loved one is in need of support during this transitional time for the weather and the energy of our island, we are here to help without judgement.

The Daffodil Festival often is seen as the kickoff to our island’s season. We encourage visitors and Nantucketers to be mindful of your wellbeing when picnicking and attending seasonal gatherings. Please be mindful of your consumption and look out for one another so that all can enjoy the weekend safely. Make use of our local taxi, rideshare, and shuttle services. Lepore Lemonade

Servings: 2 Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

• ½ cup (3 lemons) fresh squeezed lemon juice
• ⅓ cup simple syrup
• Ice
• Sparkling water (flavored or as is)

Instructions:

Step 1: Squeeze fresh lemons to yield ½ cup of juice, strain out seeds and pulp.

Step 2: Add ⅓ cup of simple syrup, stir until fully combined.

Step 3: Fill glasses with ice, pour mixture over the ice, top with sparkling water, stir gently.

Step 4: Garnish with fresh herbs like mint or rosemary and a sliced lemon wheel. Serve and enjoy.
