Dear Nantucket Current, Don't Dip Your Toe Into The Cauldron Of Political Magma
Pat Macken •
To the editor: I've always enjoyed the differing views as published in the Nantucket Current mail section. Differing opinions on community matters help all of us to formulate our own viewpoint and engage in discussions with our family and neighbors. I was, however, very disappointed in the letter that was published by the Current on Wednesday (No Kings,No Clue).
The personal attacks (including the religious affiliation of the leaders of Indivisible) and incorrect presentation of fact is nothing new. But I am greatly concerned that the Current decided to publish a letter that so clearly disparaged those who disagree with the writer, and also to dip your toe into a cauldron of political magma.
The Nantucket Current is not social media, and I can only hope your editors don't join that chorus. There is so much out there that is nonsense, and your mission is too important to our community. My hope in writing this letter is that you will continue on the path to be a true, ethical and effective newspaper.
Respectfully,
Pat Macken
