Hospital President Thanks Island Community After Pops Concert

Amy Lee •

To the editor: I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Nantucket Island community for their incredible support and participation in this past Saturday’s Boston Pops on Nantucket event.

As the president of Nantucket Cottage Hospital, I am truly humbled by the overwhelming success of this quintessential event that is such an important source of funding for our incredible team and services at the hospital and clinics.

Thank you to our presenting sponsors, Jill and Steve Karp and White Elephant Resorts. Thank you also to Fidelity Investments for their ongoing and generous support. A special thanks go out to Anne Marie and Doug Bratton who served as our Chairs this year, and to the entire Chairs Council.

I also would like to thank the Town of Nantucket and all the departments and employees that make this event possible including the first responders who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in attendance.

Recognizing all the other people and organizations that make this event happen would take up too much space here and that speaks volumes about our community who believe in our mission.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of the Nantucket Island residents and visitors. Your enthusiasm and participation truly made this the evening a resounding success. We are one of America's Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals because your passion for this community and your commitment to its well-being that continues to make Nantucket such a special place.

For me personally, this was my first Boston Pops on Nantucket, and I was not sure what to expect but I knew that it was going to be extraordinary. Truly, it is an honor to be a part of such a memorable evening and to witness the incredible spirit and unity of our community. The facilities and talented team at Nantucket Cottage Hospital are able to serve the island because of each and every one of you who have helped us thrive for more than 110 years.

Once again, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in making this event a night to remember. The support and generosity of the Nantucket community are truly remarkable, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Sincerely,

Amy Lee
