Time For The Steamship To Part Ways With Bob Davis
The Steering Committee of the Steamship Authority Citizens’ Action Group •
To the editor: In light of the OIG report released at noon on Thursday, December 18, covering the significant shortcomings of both this board and the SSA management, we demand that the board immediately invoke the 12-month clause and part ways with Mr. Davis. Anything short of that will be construed as further lack of your fiduciary responsibilities. There are two other capital projects which Mr. Davis is leading, both with millions of dollars in cost overruns. His involvement in these projects must stop immediately and a full independent audit of spend and decisions to date needs to be undertaken.
We also encourage you to seek competent outside legal counsel specializing in labor law to prepare an agreement with Mr. Davis that requires him to provide key information as needed during this one-year period and ties final payment to such a provision. We also expect that you will have worked with outside counsel to ensure that no documents, data, records, or SSA intelligence of any type is lost or destroyed before or during the transition.
Sincerely,
The Steering Committee of the Steamship Authority Citizens’ Action Group
