The Artists Association of Nantucket (AAN) has named Miranda Holmes as its new gallery director of the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, effective April 1, 2026.
Holmes joins AAN from Nantucket House Antiques & Interior Design, where she most recently worked as a Design Assistant. A Nantucket resident since 1999, she brings extensive experience working with local art, design, and antiques businesses. Holmes holds a degree in Art History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
“I am excited to bring my experience and love of Nantucket and its incredibly talented artistic community to AAN,” Holmes said in a statement. “Over the past two decades, it has been my pleasure to work with artists and patrons alike to foster the arts on Nantucket, and to become a collector in my own right. I cannot wait to collaborate with so many others that share my passion!”
In her new role, Holmes will direct the Johnson Gallery, oversee the online gallery and serve as the primary point of contact for Artist Members.
“Miranda brings years of experience in the Nantucket art market and a deep passion for our island’s artistic community," added Bobby Frazier, AAN artistic director. "She is the perfect person to guide the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery into its next chapter.”
The Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery, located at 8 Federal Street, opens April 23rd for the “Spring Forward” exhibition (reception held April 24th, from 5 - 7 p.m.).
