The cross country team travelled off island to compete in the Bob Glennon Twilight Invitational over the weekend and were able return to the island before the Nor’easter arrived and prompted boat cancellations.

Head coach Matthew Phipps said for the girls, Anna Cronin ran a 21:34 (PR), Grace Hanlon ran a 21:50, and Daniella Morris ran a 26:46 (PR).

On the boys side, Michael Sullivan ran a 17:43 (PR), Dorian Manov ran a 18:31, Morry Cardona ran a 18:39 (PR), Brian Kimball ran a 19:48 (season debut, PR) Hayden Roberts ran a 20:00 (PR) Nick Ferrentella ran a 20:26 (PR) Harlan Wright ran a 20:29 (PR), Jimmy Fuller ran a 20:44, Numa Solano ran a 21:14, Will Manning ran a 22:22 (PR), Boris Boychev ran 23:46 (while battling a chop to the ribs in the starting rush), and Devin Owen ran a 25:57 (PR).

“Our scoring five average is now 18:56,” Phipps said. “It was an incredible atmosphere. They combined all the schools into one race day because of the Nor’easter. There were plenty of great runners in each race so even though we didn't get to do varsity, our team still had plenty of competition.”

The cross country team has a meet scheduled for Thursday, October 16th at home against Cape Cod Academy at 3:30 p.m.
