Football Hosts Putnam High School For Scrimmage

The Whaler football team hosted Putnam Vocational/Technical High School Saturday morning for a scrimmage.

Some notable moments included a 70-yard touchdown pass from Burke Lombardi to Tristan Grimes on the first play of the day for the offense, a large gain on a pass from Lombardi to Canton Jenkinson, and an interception by Eli MacIver.

Lombardi was sharp in his limited action. The receivers were creating separation. The offensive line was getting some good push and finishing their blocks. The defense started out having some trouble against the run, but settled down and forced multiple turnovers.

Nantucket will be hosting Brighton High School next Saturday. We will begin publishing season previews for all of the fall sports teams this week.
