Girls Lacrosse Keeps Rolling, Improves To 7-1

The Whaler girls lacrosse team continues to steamroll their competition and improved their record to 7-1 this season following a 17-3 defeat of the St. John Paul II Lions Tuesday afternoon on the road.
The Whaler's offense was fluid. Head coach Jami Lower said this may have been her team's best game yet when it comes to teamwork.
Sophomore midfielder Bailey Lower was spectacular yet again with five goals and five assists. Sophomore midfielder Emerson Pekarcik was right behind her in the goal department with four of her own.
But the depth scoring continues to show up. Senior midfielder Ava Mosscrop scored three goals. Her sister, sophomore attacker Cydney Mosscrop, had three goals and tallied an assist. Seniors Emma Davis and Viktoria Krasteva also had goals.
Nantucket had 13 assists on the day. It can be easy to look at the lopsided score and think solely about the offense, but Lower said her defense was equally as impressive in Tuesday's win.
Nantucket has been stingy all season long behind the efforts of several Whaler players, but most notably Anna Hudzik, Brooke Damian, Evelyn Fey, and Hannah Evens. Lower said her defense was excellent at handling ground balls against the Lions.
The Whalers will have a week off before traveling to Sturgis East to take on the Storm on Tuesday, May 10, at 3:30 p.m.
