Nantucket High School student athletes were back on the field on Monday to begin their respective spring seasons. The players were excited and the air was filled with optimism as players eye an opportunity to compete and do whatever they can to make this year a memorable one. Nantucket Current photographer Chris Tran and Sports Editor David Creed made their way around to the practices to compile a photo gallery from the first two days of practice.

Junior midfielder Jack Halik showed an ability to take over games last year with his combination of size, speed, and athleticism, topped off with an excellent shot. He will look to compliment Cole Chambers to give the Whalers a dangerous one-two punch on offense. Photo by Chris Tran.
