This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Monday’s Nantucket District Court session. It includes the arraignment of a woman facing charges relating to the sexual assault of a minor.
Gretchen A. Gelder, 41, of Nantucket, was arraigned on an April 26 charge of indecent assault & battery on a child under 14 years old and two charges of aggravated rape of a child. Gelder had not-guilty pleas entered on her behalf.
The Current received and reviewed the police report filed to the court but opted against releasing the details to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
In the report, Nantucket police officer Keith Mansfield said that the alleged victim completed a forensic interview with the state police where this alleged victim disclosed that these two incidents occurred between August 15, 2022 and April 16, 2023.
Gelder was ordered to return to court June 12 for a pretrial hearing.
In other Nantucket District Court news, after being continued without a finding for one year, Anthony J. Armenti, 23, of Nashua, NH, had an Oct. 6, 2021 charge of improper storage of a firearm dismissed.
