Court: Several Arrests Made Over Labor Day Weekend

This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from Tuesday’s Nantucket District Court session. There were six arrests made over Labor Day Weekend, and four of those individuals were arraigned Tuesday morning.
Kevin Eleazar Guevara Alfaro, 35, of Nantucket, was arraigned on a September 1 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Nov. 4 for a pretrial hearing.
Fitzroy Burrell, 33, of Nantucket, was arraigned on Sept. 2 charges of assault & battery on a family/household member (three counts) and strangulation/suffocation (two counts). He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Nov. 4 for a pretrial hearing.
Armando J. Tamayo-Ceja, 32, of Nantucket, was arraigned on Aug. 31 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operating of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Nov. 4 for a pretrial hearing.
Maria De Fatima Da Silva Lima, 45, of Nantucket, will have a May 26 charge of assault & battery dismissed on the condition she complete six months of pretrial probation without a violation.
Roni J. Manon Perez, 40, of Nantucket, will have an Aug. 9 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition he complete a driver alcohol education program and forfeit his license for 45 days. All fees were remitted by District Court Judge James Sullivan.
Robert Monroe, 49, of Danbury, Connecticut, was arraigned on Sept. 2 charges of failure to stop for police, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, and failure to stop/yield. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Nov. 4 for a pretrial hearing.
A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle stemming from the same incident was dismissed and he was found not responsible on charges of a lights violation and marked lanes violation.
Ramone Desmond Nugent, 35, of Nantucket, had a June 21 charge of assault & battery dismissed after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
Leydy Laura Pena De Reyes, 31, of Nantucket, had an April 7 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
