This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday and Tuesday Nantucket District Court sessions.
Dickson Jose Acosta, 46, of Nantucket had a Nov. 21st, 2024 charge of assault & battery dismissed due to lack of prosecution after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
After being found guilty and completing two years of probation on a July 13th, 2023 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (second offense), Donna D. Buchanan, 66, of Nantucket had the probation terminated and the case is now closed.
Misael De Jesus Pu Barrera, 26, of Nantucket was arraigned on Aug. 20th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Oct. 14th for a pretrial hearing.
Timothy D. Collette, 58, of Nantucket will have a Nov. 8th, 2024 charge of violating an abuse prevention order continued without a finding for one year on the condition he complete his probation without a violation.
Jorge A. Quijada-Erazo, 54, of Nantucket was arraigned on May 24th charges of leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Oct. 6th for a pretrial hearing.
Jose Rafael Montoya-Hercules, 29, of Nantucket will have a Dec. 23rd, 2024 charge of breaking & entering for a misdemeanor dismissed on the condition he complete four months of pretrial probation.
Tyler Rioux, 35, of Nantucket will have April 4th charges of breaking & entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, and trespassing dismissed on the condition he complete at least two months of pretrial probation.
Stephen J. Romeo, 68, of Nantucket was arraigned on Sept. 30th, 1996 charges of leaving the scene of property damage, failure to stop for police, failure to stop/yield, speeding, and failure to drive in the right lane. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Sept. 8th for a pretrial hearing.
