This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday and Tuesday Nantucket District Court sessions.

James W. Agnew, 50, of Nantucket was arraigned on a July 8th charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Aug. 4th for a pretrial hearing.

Eugene T. Butler, 45, of Nantucket pleaded guilty to June 13th charges of assault & battery on a family/household member, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest. He was ordered to serve six months in the Barnstable House of Corrections on the first charge concurrently with his existing six month sentence he is currently in the process of completing following a violation in June of a previous probation he was serving on a 2024 assault & battery case.

Once Butler has completed this six month sentence in the winter, he will be released and begin one year of probation on the June 13th assault & battery with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest charges. He will avoid further jail time if he completes the one year of probation without a violation, but did have another six month jail sentence suspended for 12 months as part of Monday's plea deal that would only come into effect if he violates the probation.

Joan Alvarez Colado, 48, of Nantucket was arraigned on June 5th charges of larceny over $1,200 by a single scheme and receiving a lost credit card. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Sept. 15th for a pretrial hearing.
