This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday and Tuesday Nantucket District Court sessions.
Robert E. Foster, 55, of Nantucket, was arraigned on a July 6 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Aug. 26 for a pretrial hearing.
Richard A. Hardy, 39, of Nantucket had an Oct. 5, 2023 charge of assault & battery on a family/household member dismissed after the alleged victim in the case declined to cooperate with prosecutors.
After being continued without a finding for one year, Hernan H. Hernandez, 60, of Nantucket, had a May 7, 2023 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.
After being continued without a finding for one year, Jose Juarez Rodriguez, 51, of Nantucket had June 24, 2023 charges of failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of property damage dismissed.
Jenny M. Messer, 46, of Nantucket, was arraigned on July 13 charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to yield at an intersection, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while not being in possession of a license, and operating a motor vehicle while not being in possession of her registration. She had not-guilty pleas entered on her behalf and was ordered to return to court July 29 for a pretrial hearing.
Julia Phelps Yancy, 24, of Nantucket will have a June 16 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol continued without a finding for one year on the condition she complete her probation without a violation, complete a driver alcohol education program, and pay $600 in fees.
A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle stemming from the same incident was dismissed and she was found not responsible on charges of speeding and a marked lanes violation.
Bouchra A. Yates, 41, of Nantucket, was arraigned on July 5 charges of assault & battery on a family/household member and possessing a Class B drug. Not-guilty pleas were entered on Yates behalf and was ordered to return to court Aug. 12 for a pretrial hearing.
