This week’s Current Court Report includes arraignments and dispositions from the Monday Nantucket District Court sessions.

Roberto Carlos Chacon, 29, of Nantucket was arraigned on October 12th charges of assault & battery on a police officer, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, and trespassing. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and he was ordered to return to court Jan. 12th, 2026 for a pretrial hearing. Chacon allegedly threw rocks at police officers while they were conducting a traffic stop last month and was later caught trespassing in a neighbor’s yard. You can read the full story here.

Bernardo Alvarez Mejia, 46, of Nantucket was arraigned on Nov. 21stcharges of trafficking cocaine in an amount of 36 grams or more but less than 100 grams and possessing a class B drug to distribute. The new charges violated the probation he was serving on a 2024 charge of assault & battery. You can read more about this case here.

After being continued without a finding for one year, William J. Burns, 30, of Nantucket had a July 30th, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.

Josue E. Calderon Calderon, 22, of Nantucket was arraigned on Nov. 22ndcharges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Jan. 12th, 2026 for a pretrial hearing.

Theodore Michael Charles Fales, 33, of Nantucket was arraigned on a Nov. 23rd charge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Dec. 5th for a pretrial hearing.

Kenia Garcia Vasquez, 48, of Nantucket will have Dec. 29th, 2024 charges of leaving the scene of property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle continued without a finding for six months.

Norman Tristam Gauvin, 45, of Nantucket was arraigned on a Nov. 21stcharge of assault & battery on a family/household member. He had a not-guilty plea entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Dec. 5thfor a pretrial hearing.

After being continued without a finding for one year, Jorge A. Guzman, 31, of Nantucket will have a Nov. 17th, 2024 charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol dismissed.

Christopher Holdgate
, 68, of Nantucket was arraigned on Nov. 18th charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, using an electronic device while operating a motor vehicle, and speeding. He had not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf and was ordered to return to court Dec. 1st for a pretrial hearing.

Josue Samuel Melgar-Paz, 35, of Nantucket pleaded guilty to a July 13thcharge of assault & battery. He was ordered to complete one year of probation and stay away and have no contact with the victim.

Szymon Wojewnik, 30, of Nantucket was arraigned on Nov. 23rd charges of false/silent 911 call and disturbing the peace. Wojewnik pleaded not-guilty to the charges and was ordered to return to court Jan. 12th, 2026 for a pretrial hearing.
