Boys Lacrosse Edged Out By Falmouth

The Whaler boys lacrosse team lost a hard fought matchup against the Falmouth Clippers Thursday afternoon by a score of 7-6.
Sophomore Cole Chambers led the Whalers with four goals. Nantucket led 4-2 at halftime, thanks to some stellar goaltending by senior George Boucher. Boucher had 17 total saves on the day.
But the second half was a different story. The Clippers scored five of the seven second half goals.
“We just weren’t initiating much on offense in the second half,” Whaler head coach Sam Aloisi said. “Most of our goals came in unsettled situations and our guys are good at that. I thought in the second half we didn’t really take advantage of our speed. We played too slow.”
Seniors Cosmo Tedeschi and Justin Bloise also scored goals. The Whalers had their chances in the second half, but had difficulty burying them.
“I thought we were sloppy with the ball and just had too many dropped balls,” Aloisi said. “Part of that was their defense though. Those guys are really good.”
The Whalers will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Pembroke Titans at 11 am.
