Girls Lacrosse Final Four Match Set For Friday

The Whaler girls lacrosse team’s final four matchup will take place against the top-seeded Manchester Essex Hornets on Friday, June 17, at 3:30 p.m. at Scituate High School. The address is in the graphic above.

The Whalers (18-4) have cruised through the playoffs so far this season, outscoring their three playoff opponents 42-16. They did meet some resistance against Ipswich in the Round of 8, but the game was never in much doubt despite the 9-5 score.

The Hornets (18-2) had similar results in their first two games of the state tournament, beating Stoneham 13-2 in the Round of 32 and Nipmuc 13-0 in the Round of 16. Their Round of 8 matchup was much more challenging, but they narrowly beat Mount Greylock 12-10.

The only common opponent between these two teams is Ipswich. Manchester Essex played Ipswich twice, beating them 9-3 on April 29 and 7-5 on May 20.

Nantucket is 7-2 in away/neutral site games this year. Manchester Essex is 5-1.
