Golf Splits Pair Of Matches, Record Sits At 2-3

The Whaler golf team split a pair of matches Wednesday and Thursday. There record now sits at 2-3 to begin their first season under head coach Sam Herrick. On Wednesday, the Whalers beat the Sturgis East Storm 3.5-2.5.
Junior Henry Kathawala shot a 37, but lost his match.
Junior Cole Chambers shot a 40 and tied his match
Senior Aidan Sullivan shot a 44 and tied his match
Senior Jack Billings shot a 44 and won his match.
Senior Pat Carroll shot a 46 and tied his match.
Junior Braden Knapp shot a 40 and won his match.
On Thursday the Whalers didn’t have as much success, losing to the Cape Cod Academy Seahawks 4-2 at home.
Herrick said the Seahawks had a very impressive team. CCA’s number one golfer Thomas Guidboni shot a 35 (-1) while their number two golfer Ben Catalano shot a 37 (+1) as they led the way for a Seahawk defeat.
Knapp and Billings each won their matches against Elias Benaka and Luke Spinner respectively. The results are below.
